About this collection

The Center for Italian Culture was established at Fitchburg State College in 1999 through a gift from Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio as a community outreach program and is funded by the Fitchburg State University Foundation. The Center’s mission is to encourage the understanding and appreciation of Italian language and culture and the Italian-American experience.

The collection consists of the records of the Center for Italian Culture at Fitchburg State University.  Included are administrative and programming records, oral history interviews for the Sogni d’Oro project, and research materials and media related to the history of Italian-Americans in the Central Massachusetts area.
